Tirumala Darshan Helper — Edge Extension

An unofficial, privacy-first Microsoft Edge extension for Tirumala Special Entry Darshan booking: it keeps pilgrim details encrypted on the device, types them into the form’s text boxes on request, and sends release-time reminders to the PC and phone.

Booking opens at a fixed time and slots go fast, while typing up to six pilgrims’ details under pressure invites mistakes. People also need a reliable reminder — without handing their ID details to any online service.

Covered by 31 unit tests and 42 end-to-end browser tests (Playwright) against a practice copy of the form. Being prepared for the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store.

Individual project — design, development, testing and publishing.

Features

• Encrypted local vault — AES-GCM with a PBKDF2 (600k iterations) PIN-derived key, auto-lock and a lockout ladder; nothing leaves the device
• Fills only the text boxes of the Pilgrim Details form (and the passport pop-up); login, OTP, dropdowns, queue and payment stay with the user
• Reminders at 10 minutes, 5 minutes and release time on the PC, plus phone alerts through ntfy that are queued server-side so they arrive even with the PC off
• English, Telugu, Hindi and Tamil interface; calendar (.ics) export, CSV import and a practice page for rehearsing
• Original temple-themed UI with reduced-motion support and a built-in feedback flow

Built with JavaScript (ES modules), Manifest V3, Web Crypto API, Playwright, ntfy, Node.js.
